Chelsea Transfer News: Marco Verratti can complete Blues midfield

0

Chelsea target midfielder Marco Verratti as a replacement to Nemanja Matic in their lineup – as Blues look to build on their solid performances this season.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is believed to be a huge admirer of the tenacious Italian midfielder who ran havoc over the Blaugrana midfield in the Champions League.
According to reports from Spain, PSG are ready to sell their 24-year-old midfielder for 70 million pounds.
Despite their defensive solidarity this season, Blues’ midfield still has a few concerns. Nemanja Matic has been a huge revelation so far. However, his inclusion has come with a price. Chelsea lack goals from midfield – and are less creative with Matic in the side.
Meanwhile, Cesc Fabregas doesn’t suit to the role of protecting Chelsea’s back three efficiently – prompting Conte to suit defensive solidity over free-flowing football.

Complete midfielder

In Marco Verratti, Conte sees a midfielder with a mixture of obstinate presence; as well as someone who has an eye for the goal.
The Italian International joined PSG in 2012 – and has since established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world.
The PSG midfielder has excellent range of passes, vision and control alongside his stubbornness in midfield. Marco will forge one of the best midfield partnerships in the world with N’Golo Kante if he joins Chelsea.
However, The Italian doesn’t only interest Chelsea. Chelsea will need to see off competitions from several top European clubs.
Reports suggest that Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona have both entered the race to sign the former Pescara star.
One Barcelona legend, in particular, wants his old club to sign Marco. Speaking to Le Parisien, Xavi said: “Verratti would be the ideal signing for Barcelona in my opinion.”
The four-times Ligue 1 winner is a wanted man in Europe. It will be a statement signing for the Blues if they can get his signatures coming summer.
