With just two days left for the match, Nepal have already landed at the Manila Airport. There is a new sense of fresh air around the Nepalese side who are on a winning form recently.
After a massive corruption scandal within the squad, Nepal welcomed young players to replace their old counterparts. The move has paid off so far – with consecutive tournament wins for the country.
Meanwhile, Philippines have a more experienced side within their ranks. The Azkals played against Malaysia before their competitive clash against Nepal which they drew 0-0.
There weren’t many complaints, though – as the team goalkeeper Neil Etheridge saw positives from the draw.
“By the end of the day, defensively we kept a clean sheet, and that’s the main thing,” Etheridge said to scribes.
The goalkeeper continued: “The clean sheet is of course a foundation you can build on. Like I said before if we could have nicked the first goal. However, it may come, it’s always the important one.
“It’s good. The mood in the camp’s great, and we look forward to the next game. ” Walsall goalkeeper said when asked about the atmosphere in the camp.
“Hopefully next week we put up a better performance and score more goals. But like I said defensively we kept the clean sheet, and that’s the main thing for us.”
