Barcelona are still looking for the replacement of their legendary midfielder, Xavi. And Isco was one of the favourites to do so, however, he denies any offer or talks with Barcelona.
Barcelona are having problems in their midfield after Xavi left the club and Iniesta coming close to his final years as a football player. The rumours were invented that Isco would follow the footsteps of Luis Enrique and switch from Real Madrid to Barcelona.
The 24-year old has not received much time in the field in the capital club. He is fighting for his place against Casemiro and James Rodriguez. And the rumours saying that he could also wait for 15 months and have a free transfer from Real Madrid to Barcelona.
However, Isco denied all the rumours and said that media have invented the things.
“We players, we are exposed to rumours. We are used to it and now that there is less football with the break some media have to invent some things, I do not know why. I talk on the pitch and try to do the best that I can for the team.” He said to reporters after scoring a goal in 4-1 win over Israel.
Real Madrid offered Isco a six-year contract
According to Marca, Real Madrid have already made an offer a six-year contract extension offer for the midfielder. As his current contract is expiring in June 2018, Real Madrid are willing to keep him for next five years.
Not a regular starter
Zinedine Zidane has not used the young midfielder on a regular basis but he is the key player for Madrid this season. He has only started 13 La Liga matches this season, however, has scored six goals and provided five assists. His exciting gameplay was imperative for Los Blancos who are keen on lifting their first La Liga trophy after 2012.
Even though he is not getting much more time on the pitch now, he could soon be a regular starter. And it is no surprise that the capital club are willing to keep Isco at Santiago for many more coming years.
