Celtic vs Bayern Munich Goals & Full Match Highlights

Celtic vs Bayern Munich: The defending German champions look to seal at least the runners up spot in the group stage in Scotland.

Celtic vs Bayern Munich
Bayern dominated Celtic in their corresponding fixture at Allianz Arena, as returning manager Jupp Heycknes saw his side win 3-0.
However, injuries have given Celtic a boost ahead of the fixture with both Arjen Robben and Kingsley Coman unlikely to feature against the Scots.
There are further problems for the Germans as they will also miss their star striker Robert Lewandowski and midfielder Thomas Muller through injuries.
But, German coach Jupp Heycknes sees it as an opportunity for the rest of his squad to shine as he hints a possibility to start 4-4-2 against Brendan Rodgers’ club.
The manager said: “There might be a possibility of playing 4-4-2.”
“But we will make that decision tomorrow.”, he continued.
It is a do or die situation for Celtic as they will require nothing less than a win to keep their hopes alive for the knockout phase. However, with the qualities available in Bayern ranks, an upset is unlikely to come.
Speaking in a pre-match conference ahead of the game, Jupp Heycknes also added: “Obviously Muller and Lewandowski being injured was unexpected but I will find a solution.
“Every team faces difficulties with injuries, many other teams in the Champions League experience the same but we find solutions.
“While Arturo [Vidal] is very fast and very good up front I have a different plan for tomorrow.
“I have not worked often with Wintzheimer, I don’t know him well enough and, as I said before, there might be some other solutions.”
Meanwhile, his opponent Brendan Rodgers is likely to take this chance to show a different side to his tactical prowess. The Northern Irish manager hopes for a big result against the 2013 Champions League winners.
“My players have shown their consistency domestically, they’ve shown they are growing at this level, having not been in it for a few years. We have a lot of young players that are gaining invaluable experience from it.”, Rodgers said.
“We had a great performance against Man City last year, and they were doing very well. We just failed to get that victory but that’s what we’re searching for at this level.
“Tomorrow night we want to get a result and we have to show we have the qualities to do that. We always think we have a great chance at home.”
