Manchester United looked lackluster in the early minutes of the first half as Newcastle played to their match plan perfectly. Newcastle pressed and offered no space for incisive passes making United comfortable and vulnerable to mistakes.
Subsequently, it was Newcastle who broke the deadlock with Dwight Gayle in the score-sheet. Deandre Yedlin slid in the ball to the former Crystal Palace forward who did well to slot the ball home under pressure.
However, the Magpies faltered their lead as goals from Anthony Martial and Chris Smalling put United 2-1 up before the interval.
Paul Pogba showed a touch of class to get past Newcastle midfielder  Jacob Murphy and put a lovely cross for Martial. The French striker headed the ball down and on the target to level the score.
Crosses were Newcastle’s enemies once again when Chris Smalling converted a long ball from Ashley Young into the net to give his side the lead.
Paul Pogba’s dream return continued in the second half as he added one more goal to the United tally. The Frenchman¬† applauded his team-mate Marcos Rashford in his celebrations, and rightly so, who splendidly set up his goal.
Moreover, Romelu Lukaku scored his first goal in six games ending his five game drought.

Return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Happy news continued to flow within the Theatre of Dreams as Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned to the pitch after a career-threatening injury.
The Swedish international got injured back in April last season which ended an impressive goalscoring season for the striker.
The win puts United back to the second spot, eight points behind the league leaders Manchester City. Chelsea are third with 25 points whereas Tottenham occupy the remaining top 4 spot.
