The 25-year-old has committed his future towards his boyhood club Barcelona in a recent interview, as quoted by Calcio Mercato.
Sergi Roberto hit the rumour mills for the majority of the summer with concerns over playing time with the club. However, he has since played nine fixtures for the Catalan club this season (7 of which were starts).
The Spaniard prefers to play in centre-midfield, but several managers have utilised him across different positions in midfield and defence.
He played a crucial role in the 2015-16 season as Barcelona won their third successive title. The versatility has lured interest among several clubs, with likes of Chelsea, Juventus and Man United all interested.
The La Masia product pledges full loyalties to his current club as he labels them as “the best in the world”.
“The injury is good, but I will not play against Juve and Valencia. Madrid’s job is to be there.” , he said.
“Barcelona is the club of my life, and I want to stay here forever. That is why no one has to suffer for my renewal; I’m at the best club in the world. ”
