Chelsea star Eden Hazard has revealed he will only leave England if he’s satisfied with the accolades he won with Chelsea.
The Belgian wasn’t shy of hiding his admiration for the Spanish giants, Real Madrid and in particular his idol, Zinedine Zidane. However, the Belgian is in no hurry to leave the Stamford Bridge based club as of now.
The 26-year-old has developed himself to be one of Premier League’s best players, with two league medals already in his name. But, his long term ambition to win the Champions League might sway him to move for Real Madrid.
Speaking to French broadcaster Canal+, the Belgian said: “I am always very fine at this club. I still have two years of my contract.
Furthermore, the former Lille man spoke about how rumors about his future never fazed him. He also recalled the unsubstantial rumors of his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain when he was a Lille player.
“In Lille, I was announced in Paris but I stayed. And in Chelsea, people always said that I’m leaving, but I’m still here.”, he added.
Author’s take: Will Chelsea keep hold of their key asset?
Eden Hazard is one of the most talented players in Chelsea‘s history. With just two years left in his contract, Chelsea will need to act quick to extend the Belgian’s contract to avoid any late mishaps.
However, with a player as ambitious as Eden Hazard, Chelsea won’t keep hold of him longer unless they make a massive statement of intent to pursue for greater things in Europe.
Domestically, Hazard has won everything to be won and will go down as one of the club’s best ever players. It’s in Europe where the number 10 has his eyes set.
Chelsea will need to strengthen and give Antonio Conte enough ammo to challenge for Champions League in next two seasons.
