A lot has happened since Romelu Lukaku left for United in the summer. They signed Wayne Rooney and Sandro as direct replacements for the striker, while also splashing a hefty sum of cash on Gylfi Sigurdsson.
However, the summer spending didn’t really wield good enough results for the Toffees. Ronald Koeman suffered as a result, and David Unsworth took over the Dutch on a temporary basis.
Meanwhile, Sam Allardyce got his ‘dream’ job permanently in a view to turn around the fortunes at Goodison Park.
Nevertheless, one primary anecdote that the English manager needs will be finding a proper replacement for Lukaku in January.
Theo Walcott seems to be in the mix as a primary target for the Blues, as Daily Mail reports Everton have already inquired about his availability. The former Southampton star is finding it difficult to get consistent number of games at Arsenal, with Wenger preferring Alexandre Lacazette, Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck over him.
A move could be on the cards and relegation-savior specialist, big ‘Sam’ plots a move to acquire his services.
Walcott, 28, isn’t as prolific as the Manchester United hitman but it’s difficult to find anyone as good as Lukaku in the market. The forward injects speed and tenacity to Everton’s forward lineup which will surely be crucial to their season.
Allardyce also admitted that it is a challenging task for the Everton board.
The former England boss maintained: “I understand why they didn’t replace Lukaku – nowadays that’s such a hugely difficult piece of business.

“There’s such a lack of top quality strikers, not just in England but literally across the world today.

“But still, the club needs someone to get goals and change those results around.”

But could Walcott be a jigsaw to their puzzle?
