AC Milan have submitted a second bid within hours of submitting their first one to Chelsea for the signing of Christian Pulisic.
Milan initially bid close to £12 million for the American which was rejected by Chelsea. They then followed up with a bid worth up to £19 million.
The Blues have been open to selling Pulisic this summer as part of their strategy to trim down the squad to raise money. They have already raised over £200 million through player sales.
Many reports suggest that the transfer is now moving into the final stages and will be completed sooner rather than later. Fabrizio Romano had already reported that Pulisic agreed personal terms with Milan and is keen on joining the Italian giants.
French club Olympique Lyonnais had reportedly bid £21.5 million for the USMNT captain but the player’s preference to join Milan has stopped Chelsea from accepting that offer.
Chelsea and Milan also have a good relationship after working closely on many deals in recent years. Milan most recently signed Ruben Loftus-Cheek this season from Chelsea.
Pulisic signed for Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 for a fee of £58 million, making him the most expensive North American player of all time.

It was a big fee for the then 20-year-old and still he showed glimpses of his qualities in flashes at Chelsea but failed to really cement a place in the starting eleven.
Constant injury woes did not help as he failed to perform consistently week in, week out for Chelsea. He only made 25 club appearances last season due to injuries and poor form.
Overall, The 24-year-old made over a 100 appearances for the club having scored more than 20 goals in 4 seasons. He played on both wings and also through the middle at different stages and in different systems under several managers.
Pulisic’s potential was identified early by the scouts at Borussia Dortmund as he was signed into their youth academy as a 17-year-old from his boyhood club Pennsylvania Classics. He went on to make his debut for Dortmund just a year later and instantly captured the attention of many clubs around Europe.
He also captains his national side and has earned 60 caps for the USMNT. He became the youngest player to captain the United States national team in a friendly against Italy when he was 20 years old.
Milan are set to secure a talented young player for a cut price who still has a lot to prove and will be hungry to take up the challenge of the Serie-A. A fresh start may allow him to fulfil his true potential.
