Arsenal keen on signing Ajax defender Jurrien Timber 

According to Football Insider, the Gunners have reached a verbal agreement with Jurrien Timber, who is eager to join the Premier League team.

The report further states that Arsenal will soon hold transfer talks with Ajax, and it remains to be seen whether they can agree on a fee with the Dutch outfit. 

Timber has been a solid defender for Ajax and has the ability to make the jump to the Premier League.

Arsenal require defensive depth this summer, and the 22-year-old would be an excellent addition. Timber can play both as a central defender and as a full-back. Mikel Arteta will also benefit from his versatility.

Arsenal’s lack of depth and talent in the team cost them the Premier League title last season.

The injury to William Saliba in the last stretch of the season wrecked their title hopes, and Arteta will seek to fill those holes in his squad before the new season begins.
