Gabriel Magalhaes says Jesus predicted Premier League charge after signing

During an interview on the official Premier League YouTube channel, Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes claimed that new signing Gabriel Jesus told him they could win the Premier League before the season even started.

“When he came to Arsenal, the first day he looked at me and said if everyone works together, we can win this league,” Magalhaes said.

Jesus was signed from Manchester City in the summer for a reported fee of £45 million. He won the Premier League five times with them before the move.

Jesus’ signing not only elevated the quality of Arsenal’s forward line, but this winning mentality completely transformed other players’ mindset.

Additionally, the club also signed his City teammate Oleksander Zinchenko, who has proven himself to be a leader in the dressing room and the pitch.

Jorginho was also signed from Chelsea in January and the player has won a Champions League as well as a UEFA Euro, adding to the winning mentality.

Arsenal finished fifth last season, narrowly pipped for the final Champions League spot by Tottenham during the final games.

Many had only expected the club to fight for a Champions League spot again, but they have exceeded predictions to the extent of leading the Premier League by eight points with only 10 games to go.

And while the rise of younger players such as Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and William Saliba has been a major factor, the addition of a winning mentality has also been crucial.
