Jurgen Klopp on latest Liverpool loss: “How can I not be concerned?”

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted that he is worried about the current form and attitude of his players following the club’s 3-0 defeat to Wolves at Molineux.

“Unfortunately, you ask me that too often. How can I not be concerned? I cannot sit here think, ‘Oh, no. That’s all OK. We did well, but football…’ It’s not [OK].

“I got now asked a question outside if it’s because of last season – 63 games – stuff like this. Yes, definitely, we have to say it,” he stated when asked whether the trials of the previous season had any impact on their performances in this campaign.

Klopp added that he hasn’t lost confidence in his players but is aware of the areas in which they have to improve. He bemoaned his side’s slow start to the game stating: “The start into the game was horrible, absolutely horrible; it was the opposite of what we wanted to do.

“The first 12 minutes, 2-0 down, is absolutely never helpful, but especially in our situation. It is absolutely not allowed to happen.”

Liverpool are currently 10th in the Premier League and are yet to win a game in the league since the turn of the year. The defeat to Wolves follows heavy defeats at Brighton and Brentford.
