Rabiot was frequently mentioned as a potential summer transfer to Manchester United. But now he has praised Steven Gerrard, one of Liverpool’s all-time greatest players, in a speech about their fierce rivals.
Speaking to Tuttosport, he said: “I loved Liverpool a lot because I was a bit fan of Steven Gerrard, who made me dream, and so therefore, I followed the Reds.” He then added: “My other idol was Zinedine Zidane.”
Liverpool wants to strengthen their midfield in the summer after a challenging season. It has been difficult for players like Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, and Naby Keita to control the middle of the field.
