Liverpool have scheduled a new round of meetings with the agents of both Manu Kone and Khephren Thuram, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
The French pair were also spotted together earlier in the week as they know each other well having played together at the under-21 level.
Kone and Thuram have been on Liverpool’s wishlist for the summer and it looks like the Reds are looking to sign both of them. Romano also reported that Liverpool have already been in contact with the pair’s agents with regard to a move.
Liverpool are looking to revolutionise their ageing midfield and have already secured the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton. Kone and Thuram are also dynamic midfielders who could freshen up Liverpool’s squad.
Manu Kone currently plays for German club Borussia Monchengladbach and has made over 50 appearances for the club. He began his career with Toulouse FC in France before signing for Monchengladbach back in 2021.

Khephren Thuram plays for French side OGC Nice and also has a French national side cap. Thuram is the son of legendary footballer Lillian Thuram. His brother Marcus is also a footballer who plays with Kone at Monchengladbach.
Monchengladbach and Nice have both been rumoured to want around €40 million each for Kone and Thuram respectively. Liverpool have not yet submitted any official offers or agreed personal terms with the pair of 22-year-olds.
The Reds have already spent a similar transfer fee for Mac Allister and there is no clarity over whether Liverpool can afford to sign both Kone and Thuram.
Naby Keita and James Milner have left the club and youngster Fabio Carvalho may also be on his way out on a loan deal. Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.
Liverpool clearly do need better squad depth in midfield and also more young talent as they look to improve upon their poor showing in the 2022/23 Premier League season.
