Although Manchester City’s season isn’t going as well as usual, the signing of Julian Alvarez has been one of the bright spots.
The Argentinian hasn’t taken long to adapt after moving from River Plate this summer. He has five goals in the Premier League and ten across all competitions, a decent return for his debut season in the top 5 leagues.
He further added to his reputation by scoring four times in the 2022 World Cup, helping Lionel Messi win the trophy for the first time.
This form has led Manchester City to offer him an extension on his contract till 2028. The proposal is already on the table, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Alvarez is yet to agree to the extension, and nothing is confirmed yet. With Haaland firmly the first choice at the striker position, the Argentinian might bide his time in committing his future.
However, the club does not have a recognised striker to deputise if Haaland is out apart from Alaverez and will be looking to retain such a strong option.
