Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said after the club’s 1-0 defeat against Everton at Goodison Park that this was the time to get behind the players.
“We need to digest this one because it is important to digest, look in the mirror and on Monday come to the training ground ready for a fight because Brentford will be tough.
“Now is a time to love the players more than the day before and the month before, because they fully deserve it. We will be next to them and prepare for Saturday,” he stated.
He added that the team should have done more to win the game and that while the players managed to carve their way to the final third, the end product was missing.

“In the end, it is about the last 20 minutes and what do you do? There I think we lacked something to win like we won a lot of games this season, but we’ll work on that,” the Arsenal manager said.
Arsenal had faced just one defeat before the fixture in the first 18 games of the season, which came back in September when they lost 3-1 to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Gunners still have a 5-point lead on second-placed Manchester City, who play Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
