Newcastle United have stunningly reached an agreement on personal terms with one of Europe’s most wanted talents, Sandro Tonali.
Newcastle’s interest in the player was only revealed a few days ago and now it looks like they are in a position to secure a deal with AC Milan already. Their representatives met with the Rossoneri in Italy on Wednesday.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Milan representatives are now set to fly out to Romania to discuss and seal the potential deal with Newcastle. The agreement will see Milan receive a full package of around €70 million including add-ons.
The Magpies have already reached an agreement on personal terms with the 23-year-old. He is now expected to join the Newcastle midfield as their latest big-profile signing in their revolution under Saudi ownership.
Tonali is set to receive €8 million per season plus €2 million in add-ons. He will sign a 6-year deal with the Magpies until the year 2029.
He has played over 90 games each for both Brescia and Milan and has already made 14 appearances for the Azzurri at such a young age.
Tonali was scouted by almost every big club around Europe back in 2020 when he showcased his potential at Italian club Brescia. He ended up signing for Milan and it looked like he would not move outside of Italy anytime soon.

But the Newcastle project under Eddie Howe seems to have convinced the Italian to join the club and start a new challenge in England. He has all the qualities to be successful in the Premier League.
The Italy international is well suited to the aggressive challenges of the league and could pair up with the Brazilian Bruno Guimaraes to make up one of the most impressive midfield partnerships in the league.
Another important quality that Tonali brings is his leadership. He is a natural leader who was already Brescia’s captain at just 20 years old. He has also been given the arm band at Milan from time to time and quickly became one of the leaders of the team. He has been touted by many to be Italy’s captain for many years to come.
This signing would come as a major boost to Newcastle and aid them in their most recent challenge of the Champions League and also help them take the next step in the league by trying to challenge for the league title as fast as they can.
