Gabriel Jesus might return from injury earlier than expected

Arsenal’s high-profile summer signing Gabriel Jesus has been instrumental in the team’s success this season. However, the gunners met with a blow when he was injured during the World Cup.

During Brazil’s loss to Cameroon in the tournament, Jesus wasn’t moving as freely as usual. Scans after the game revealed a knee injury.

After undergoing surgery, he was only expected to play a small part towards the end of the season. But the Arsenal striker could well return this month.

During a conversation with former UFC Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov last month, he states that a return within “four to five” weeks was possible.

Now, the striker has confirmed that he has started running again via an Instagram story. He wrote: “After 8 weeks,” confirming his return to the pitch.

It will still take time for Jesus to reach 100% fitness and be match-ready but an end-of-February return could well be on the cards as per what he stated before.

Although Eddie Nketiah has been deputising well for the injured striker, the club will be hoping to get both in the squad as soon as possible to aid the club’s pursuit of their first Premier League title since 2004.

This is the first time in history that the club has reached the 50-point mark within the first 19 games. To keep up the intensity, they’ll be hopeful for a fully fit squad as they compete in the Europa League as well.
