Thomas Partey injury update: Arsenal midfielder out for weeks

According to the Ghana team doctor, Thomas Partey had a groin injury during Arsenal training on August 31 and will be out for a while.

As per the official Ghana FA statement, the midfielder will be out for a couple of weeks, which is better than the reports claiming that Partey would be gone for a few months.

Due to the injury, Oleksandr Zinchenko must now fill the inverting fullback position for Arsenal. The Gunners are off to a bad injury start this season after being completely destroyed by injuries in the second half of last season.

The aforementioned Zinchenko was injured at the start of the season. 50 minutes into the season, Jurrien Timber, who had been added as another option for the inverted fullback, rolled and tore his ACL.

Partey, who has been inverting from the right back, has now sustained damage.

At Atletico Madrid, Partey was tough and largely injury-free, but he can’t seem to stay fit at Arsenal. Since he joined the Gunners, he has participated in around half of the games. His age may have something to do with his recent injury history.

He joined Arsenal when he was 27 and is currently just shy of 30. Some players experience greater injuries as they become older.

The good news is that the forthcoming international break will provide most of the required healing time if Partey’s injury just prevents him from playing for a few weeks.
