Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed personal terms with Galatasaray’s centre-back Victor Nelsson.
It is being reported that Tottenham have made a £21 million bid for the defender as they look to strengthen their defence after a tough season in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old is said to be keen on a move to London and has already agreed personal contract terms with Spurs. The next step for Spurs is to find an agreement with the Turkish club.
Improvement in defence is high up on the agenda for Tottenham as they have been less than convincing in defence this season. Along with this, Clement Lenglet’s season-long loan deal is also set to expire in the summer.
Spurs’ defence has been below-average, which has been one of the biggest reasons for them sitting in 8th position in the league currently. They have conceded 62 goals in the league this season.
Spurs have missed out on Champions League football and can potentially miss out on European football completely for next season. It has been a poor season for the team from north London and that will make it difficult for them to sign the absolute top players from around Europe.

Nelsson can prove to be a solid option though as a player who is ready to make that next step into the Premier League. The Dane can prove to be a smart acquisition.
The defender arrived in Turkey at Galatasaray from Copenhagen FC back in 2021. He has also featured for his national side Denmark on 10 occasions.
The biggest priority for Tottenham and chairman Daniel Levy remains to hire a sporting director and also a new manager at the club. No signings can be signed-off while these two positions at the club remain vacant.
Spurs have been extremely unsuccessful in their hunt for a new manager with Arne Slot being the latest target to have rejected the club’s offer. The number of candidates reportedly rejecting Spurs has reflected badly on the ownership and has angered the fans of the club.
Spurs are currently targeting Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou but some reports have suggested that the Greek-Australian is also looking to turn down Tottenham’s offer.
