Tottenham smash two past struggling Chelsea

Graham Potter’s side failed to score for a third straight game and are now winless in six as Skipp and Kane struck in the second half to earn Tottenham the win.

Despite recent setbacks, the Chelsea supporters were confident going into this game because of previous encounters. Spurs last defeated the Blues in a league match in 2018 when Maurizio Sarri was in charge. But things did not go in their favor.

It was Oliver Skipp who lashed Tottenham into the lead with a sensational strike on a ball that was cleared by the very expensive central midfield defender Enzo Fernandez. Kane sealed the deal for Tottenham when he pounced at the far post after a corner by Heung-min Son was flicked on by Eric Dier in the 82nd minute.

Chelsea failed to generate clear-cut opportunities to come back into the game even after spending around £300 million on players in January alone and failing to score for the fourth time in five league games.

he victory, which was the first for the home team against Chelsea in nine league encounters, put Spurs in fourth place, four points ahead of fifth-placed Newcastle United, who have played two fewer games.

The West Londoners have now scored only six goals across their last 12 games in the Premier League, which makes them the lowest-scoring side since the start of November.

Every time the Chelsea supporters think that the club has hit rock bottom and couldn’t get worse, this team finds a way. Chelsea FC showed no signs of progress. In fact, they looked a lot more clueless than they were against Borussia Dortmund and West Ham.

Chelsea at the moment is struggling under Potter to get into a rhythm and back into the premier league top spots, while Tottenham eye the top four.
